Besides just the fact that the food is amazing they have great costumer service. My baby was asleep in the car and I called in a pick up order. They were so kind and understanding when I asked if they could bring my order to the car outside so I didn't have to wake him up. Thanks Osaka for looking out for this Mama!
They have conveyor belt sushi, which is really convenient. The service is great and the food is tastefully amazing. We ordered 2 rolls and a half roll, but we received one of them completely different. It came with 4 more rolls. The avocado on the Orlando roll is awesome, same with the salmon. We will be back sooner or later.
Best place to get sushi! Spicy crawfish is my go to roll! I love the lunch sushi bar can't beat the prices! Service is always great love the atmosphere and all the options you can get!
My favorite sushi location in Memphis. I have never been disappointed I typically get sushi and hibachi. My typical hibachi dishes are chicken, salmon, or sea bass. The yum yum sauce is amazing. Friendly staff.
Our first time to eat here and I have to say I was impressed. Our chef, Steve, did a very nice job of cooking the food and making sure all was right. I ordered the shrimp and lobster and it was cooked to perfection. The servings were more than adequate especially the fried rice and the vegetables. There were 12 of us and he was careful to make sure we each got a generous portion. My wife got the chicken and it was fixed perfectly and just the way she likes it. it's a fun way to have a meal so if you have not tried it and you like this type of cooking, give it a try. The price is reasonable.
Love the sushi here. I am not a big hibachi fan, but love coming to this Osaka for the sushi. We like the natural disasters... volcano, tornado, and hurricane, but can't visit without a Cordova roll too.
Three words: Conveyor belt sushi!! If you're ever in the Collierville area during lunch hours (Mon-Fri), you've got to give this spot a try (especially if you are a sushi lover). This is probably the only place in town that offers this feature. The chefs in the middle can make almost anything (within reason). My favorite rolls are the "Red Bird" rolls. The plate comes with 4 rolls and they charge you by plate. It can get a little busy at times but if you come right after the lunch hour rush around 1, you'll be fine! :)
Seems they have greatly improved the conveyer belt output. I was also extremely pleased to find out they now offer the "belt" sushi at Sunday lunch!
My favorite spot for years, the first restaurant I tried when I moved here 10+ years ago!! But only this Osaka location. Gyoza, Sushi, Chicken Fried Rice, even the water is amazing (must be ultra filtered). I always wash it down with a cup of hot green tea. Now for lunch...can you say Sushi Roll Conveyor Belt Heaven! I love doing lunch here. It's fast and filling and if your fav roll isn't moving down the belt, the sushi chefs will make it for you.
Great sushi and great service. I had the Tuna Tataki and the Ohio roll. Incredibly fresh and the taste was amazing. I'll continue to come here.
Definitely a great hibachi and sushi restaurant with consistent service and entrees! This is my favorite Osaka location out of the local restaurant chain; the location in Collierville is great and there's always plenty of parking. I would definitely advise calling ahead for a reservation on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a hibachi table.
if you're sensitive to MSG or any kind of fried food definitely steer clear of hibachi- I can only eat here about once a year because of my dietary restrictions and my sensitive stomach - but it's definitely worth the splurge. The food is fantastic, service was wonderful, and they were kind enough to come grab me when I had forgotten my to go order for a friend on my way out of the door.
I love that they have the sushi conveyer belt and lunch specials to eat as much sushi as you want and the prices are pretty great too.
I can't say I'd recommend the other Osaka locations but this one is definitely a favorite of mine.
An absolutely astounding tableside presentation of sushi, tempura and dinner. Here's to both new Friends and good Friends! An outstanding venue!
Best Sushi in Memphis!
When I pulled up Osaka on Yelp to leave my review I was heartbroken to see some of the terrible, seemingly vindictive, reviews of this restaurant.
I'm a 100% no-nonsense, tell it like it is, straight shooter kinda guy and if you read through my reviews I've left my fair share of negative ones. But let me say... I LOVE Osaka!!
I've always been greeted promptly at the door by the hostess and I've rarely wanted more than 30-45 seconds before being seated and I've probably been to the Collierville location a good 50+ times.
The Sushi is always piping hot and quick wether it's ordered from the kitchen or grabbed from the conveyer belt. (It was only hot if it was supposed to be hot. No temperature issues)
If you aren't getting something quick enough at the conveyor belt use the mouth God gave you and speak up to ask for it. They make the heck out of some delicious sushi but maybe they aren't good mind readers (addressing any negative reviews).
When We go, we order one or more of the following items:
Spicy Crawfish Roll
Yellow Tail Tuna Cheek (from sushi bar)
Teriyaki Chicken meal
The sushi conveyor belt is $2.95 per plate for 4 pieces of each roll that you select.
Excellent service. Great food around Memphis. Their best roll..."red spicy dragon roll". Other good rolls are also great such as, Osaka roll, Spider roll, tuna roll, etc. Most of them are great.
I frequent Osaka quite often with a group of people. We always sit at the hibachi table. I typically get the chicken hibachi and a spicy crawfish roll. They have the best spicy crawfish roll in Memphis as far as I can tell. Their hibachi is very good as well and affordable. You must remember to try a little seafood sauce with it.
The service is somewhat quirky. They sometimes refuse to seat you unless your whole party is there, though you can be playful about it and tease them, then they lighten up. It may take a while for your hibachi chef to come out, so expect a full hour for lunch if you choose hibachi. Their prices as I mentioned before are reasonable and it's gotten to be a very popular place. I would recommend it to anyone.
Osaka has the best sushi in town. I eat there almost twice a week. They have been training some new sushi chefs, so I have had a couple of not so great meals, but nothing to keep me from not coming back. Their sushi is so cheap compared to other places in the area. They have a sauce called "Osaka" sauce that I could literally drink. It is a spicy sauce, but I recommend anything that comes with it on it. My favorite rolls are the spicy crawfish, tokyo, dyno-dynamite, and cordova roll. They are all more than amazing! I am not a hibachi fan, so I don't know much about their hibachi side. The service is hit or miss, but the food definitely makes up for it. I think they know it, too!
One of our favorite places for lunch. The only local place that has the sushi conveyor belt. Perfect for trying new rolls and having a little bit of everything. We've always had good, fresh sushi here. Service could be better. And a menu describing the sushi varieties on the belt would be nice. Overall, a great little find in Collierville.
Sometimes The service is a tad slow, but the food is delicious! I love the sushi and chicken fried rice. In my opinion it is the best chicken fried rice in the city. I have not tried the Hibachi, but I enjoy the regular menu. Food is always good and priced very well. Def recommend.
Good sushi for not being near the water, i recomend the volcano and cordova roll! What i like is you can order half orders if you are not that hungry! my family and I eat there at least three times a month
Osaka is my #1 choice when I need a 30 minute in-and-out quick lunch. I usually sit at the sushi bar, order a clear soup and hot tea to warm me up (it's freezing in there), and pull rolls from the conveyor belt. My reason for giving Osaka a 4 out of 5 stars is three-fold:
1. Although the rolls are delicious, the sushi chefs put out too many of the same kind and many of them are filled up with 'crunchies'. I find myself sitting there watching what feels like 30 plates of the same thing pass before something new catches my eye.
2. They pour their special spicy sauce on nearly every conveyor-belt roll. While it's delicious, it's too spicy for me and it limits my roll options significantly.
3. It's COLD in Osaka. Bring a jacket....look around and you'll notice that everyone else has their's on too!
I still recommend Osaka to sushi lovers. You can't beat it for the price!
A very clean, bright restaurant. We were immediately seated and our server was right at our side. The wine selection was limited but acceptable. The sushi Chefs are in the middle of the restaurant and very fast and creative. Ebi sushi was fresh and tasty. The California rolls were very good, as well. The spider rolls were not so good. The soft shell crab was greasy as if the oil they were cooked in wasn't hot enough. Overall, this place is close and convenient and we will go back.
Pretty good place and close to home...I usually start off with their Soft Shell Crab appetizer, tempura fried with their special Ponzu sauce. The Gyoza app is also good. The combination salad is interesting but good. They've got a nice selection of sushi rolls and the roll menu tells you whats in it and how it's prepared. The Yellow Tail Sashimi is excellent and they also do a good Tuna Tataki. For the adventurous, the baby octopus is a favorite of mine. They have a good lunch menu and a "conveyor belt" system where you just choose what little plates you want and at the end they count the plates you've accumulated and tally up your bill. It's a pretty reasonable price. Service is sometimes slow. They also have a Hibachi section as well. The atmosphere is somewhat trendy. It can get loud during busy hours but not too bad. The liquor bar is small but nice sometimes if you're dining alone. Overall, it's a pretty good place. They also have another location in Mississippi off Hacks Cross Road.
Best sushi in Collierville! This is a sushi and teppanyaki restaurant that does a sold job at both forms. I'd eat both, but it's really the sushi that makes this place stand out. A complete menu, well prepared, fresh ingredients.
Lunch is the most fun, with the conveyer belt going. It's a cheap, fast and tasty way to eat. Not that during the heart of the lunch hour you may not be able to get a seat at the conveyer, and also during the heart of the lunch hour it can be hard to get a good variety. They put the food out, but it gets grabbed quick!
For dinner the best deal is the early bird, if you're in before 6PM you can get some nice deals on both sushi and teppanyaki. They offer a complete range of sushi, plus some non-sushi dishes. If you have some friends who don't eat sushi there are a number of options for them in a traditional japanese style. There's also plenty of cooked sushi for the less adventurous.
My personal favorite? The tornado roll. It's deep friend goodness. However, if you want to be more healthy a simple avocado roll is a nice treat, simple and very tasty!
Amazing food first off. Lunch is always good. Sushi is very good and is very fair for the price. The sushi chefs always treat me and my brother like family and remember what we like to orfer when we go for lunch. Dinner is fairly priced aswell. This is a great place to have a bite to eat. The only down side would be the waiters taking a while to check up on people if they are on the sushi bar and I drink lots of water when I eat bit only get around 1 refill by the time we are done.
Conveyer belt sushi and hibachi tables at a convenient location in Collierville.
LOVE THE SUSHI!! It's usually a long wait during lunch and dinner hours. Otherwise, brilliant!!
Food portions are great. Customer service a lil laid back.
Great food! Love the conveyer belt sushi. I hate how it closes in the middle of the day and many times you have to ask for your rolls on the conveyer belt as it gets picked over quickly. I recommend the spicy the crawfish and dynamite rolls if you enjoy some heat. Tornado roll if you enjoy fried rolls.
Great hibachi experience, nice waiters and excellent chefs.
Great sushi, decent atmosphere.
Good food, good service, average hibachi prices. I'll eat here again.
love their food, how ever only if they go down on their prices because i find it over rated. but to be honest the food is geat
Food was good but really overpriced.
Good food, decent service. Could maybe be a little updated, but it really is a pretty good spot.
Fantastic food, best sushi i've ever had! My wife & I have their sushi weekly, great value but most importantly amazing flavor.
I really enjoyed this Osaka restaurant. I have been to many other Osaka restaurants across the country, this place is unique because it has a sushi bar with a conveyor belt that pulls the sushi around the bar. I was not here for lunch but the lunch special has an all you can eat sushi and all you do is grab the sushi off of the bar.
The service was great I set around the sushi bar tonight. I had hot sake, as well as some Nigiri sushi, and hibachi chicken. All of the food was good, hot, and well priced. I would come back to this Osaka restaurant anytime.
The food is delicious. I go whenever I can.
Been going there regularly for the past 2 months for lunch, no problems at all. Sushi is delicious!
I love the conveyor belt for lunch. It does suck to get put on the wrong side of hungry men but the chefs are super nice and will make requests when they get a chance and even move the plates to you.
Very good hibachi and sushi. Many local specialty rolls.
Best SUSHI in the city!
The food is delectably exceptional. The service is great as well. It's so popular, one may be bogged down by the crowd but if you travel with a caravan of family and friends, then you'll be right at home. My kids, 3 and 5 love it. My parents, 40 & 50 something, love it. My wife and I, 30 something, love it. My point is this place rocks when you want to hang out with family and close friends. The atmosphere is great. The food is wonderful. The experience is electrifying. The crawfish eel sushi is a favorite. Pros: Great and Exceptional Food Cons: Busy on the weekends. Reservations recommended for large parties.
A great change from the same old food. This japanese restraunt exceded my expectations. You can pick to eat a table and have your food brought to ...

Have tried many times here. I would definitely recommend the sushi at lunch. You can just grab whatever you like off the belt and try all kinds of the rolls with a decent price. The spicy crawfish roll is my favorite.
What's there not to like about sushi I mean it's quick it's easy it's tasty and the best part you can sit and eat at the bar and they really have great cocktails if you go during their happy hour in Osaka I love this place
A great change from the same old food. This japanese restraunt exceded my expectations. You can pick to eat...
We go here at least 2-3 times per week. We love the food and staff. Not sure about the manager as some have mentioned. She doesn't seem to interact with the patrons.

Man, I got a bento when traveling to China last year. Behold I can get a similar (close) meal as I received in China (nice settings)
Got ripped off on my birthday.
Got ripped off on my birthday. We had a large party dine at Osaka which automatically added for gratuity due to the number of people. Well on top of the already decent tip the server helped himself to an extra $10. I took my copy of the
My favorite Hibachi Spot Never too crowded and doesn't have that franchise feel... Great drinks and delicious hibachi. Haven't tried the sushi yet. Never a long wait to be seated unlike other places
Service was great and food was even better. I must admit I'm addicted to the sushi here.
My favorite Collierville restaurant! Try any hibashi dish, rolls are also very good. And if you are short in budget try the shrimp fried rice! You won't regret.
i luv this place so much! the staff i so nice they know my name!! the only bad staff is the the man whos hair is light brown and spiked down the middle. other than that Amazing!!!!!!!!i could eat there every day
We love OSAKA! the service is a little slow I guess because they are always so busy. The food is delicious and the value is just right!
A good dependable restaurant. The food is quite good and the service is also usually quite good.
The food is always so good. It's a great place, but the service is not always best.
I come to this location for lunch all the time. I have never been disappointed. Sushi is fresh and the staff is very friendly.
Great food and great service. Our family always enjoyed Osaka while we lived in Collierville.
It is the best sushi in town. It is fresh and tasty. I love their conveyor bell at sushi area where is a great place for lunch. I highly recommend this place if you like authentic Japanese food, especially Sushi, it is deliciously awesome !!!!
Osaka is by far my favorite place to get affordable sushi in Memphis. The Collierville location is the better location also. Great food and at this location you can get half rolls for those of you that can't decide of want to try a lot. During the weekdays they have a great priced lunch and a lot to choose from.
Hands down the BEST sushi I have ever had!!!! I've tried every other sushi place in Memphis and none can even compare. If you think you don't like sushi, get the Dyno dynamite roll you will be hooked for life! They have a rotating sushi bar during lunch hours and it is a great way to try new rolls. It's only $3 a plate and you get 3-4 pieces on each. I would recommend this place to anyone!
The best sushi I have ever had and I have been everywhere in Memphis. Hands down amazing sushi!!!! Dyno-dynamite and volcano rolls are kings!!! I love sushi so much because of this restaurant. Please don't pass up this opportunity to make your taste buds go insane!!! :)
Good hibachi, although they seem to make everything with the same sauce. The plum wine was also very good here. Service was so-so.
Memphis is known for BBQ but sushi? You would think I was kidding but Osaka Japanese Cuisine is legit. This is coming from someone who has been eating sushi for the past 15 years from Chicago, San Francisco, and Hawaii.
With a hibachi grill, a sushi conveyor belt, and a full bar, Osaka is a triple threat. The maki rolls are reasonably priced for only $5-8. When you're used to seeing maki rolls priced at $8-15 in Chicago, Osaka's prices are shocking.
I came with low expectations since it was Memphis but I was pleasantly surprised. The rolls weren't overstuffed with rice and the fish was at the right temperature and texture. Out of the selection, the Osaka roll is a must have - scallop and crab mixed with a spicy mayo then baked.
Sounds like a joke but go to Memphis and eat sushi at Osaka's.
It's real good now, got new chef, problem solved!
Anytime I visit a sushi restaurant where they serve half-rolls, I'm already hooked. I can try several different rolls without spending a lot of money. This place has half-rolls so it was love at first sight here. The restaurant has hibachi as well so you can choose between regular dining or hibachi.
My favorite rolls here are the Spicy Crawfish, Cordova, and the Spicy salmon roll. I've also had the hibachi on a separate visit and it's very good and very entertaining as a good hibachi should be.
I would recommend this location and this restaurant as a good sushi and hibachi restaurant
I don't care what people say, they make good sushi, and its the type of sushi with all the toppings and ingredients I like. Reminds me of the type of sushi I get back in Chihuahua, Mx, so I'll keep on eating in any of the Osaka's locations as long as I can.
I have been eating at this restaurant for a while now. Today I started with a house salad and miso soup, which I usually get at every sushi restaurant. The miso soup was miso soup, I don't notice too much variation in this from restaurant to restaurant. The house salad is all about the ginger dressing, and Osaka's ginger dressing is great. For sushi I split a Tokyo drift roll, Hawaiian roll, and New Orleans roll. All of these rolls were delicious. I mean to take a picture to post, but didn't remember until half the food was gone (which means it was really good). The Tokyo drift roll isn't on the menu, they used to have it listed on the board by the front door (not sure if it is still there). Another roll I get that is/was on the special board is the Jamaican drift roll. You won't go wrong with any of these choices.
I came here for lunch during the week to experience the conveyor belt sushi. We were promptly seated by the conveyor belt and they had a healthy amount of sushi making its rotation. Each plate had four pieces and cost a couple dollars; quite a deal! The sushi chefs also were receptive to requests from other tables (I'm more of a "order whatever" type of person at sushi places; it's usually all good). The quality of sushi here was pretty good, particularly for Memphis, My main gripe on this place is that it takes FOREVER to get a drink/a refill. I'd definitely come back!
Hibachi was fantastic for dinner. Chef was really great, and personable. Food cooked perfectly. I've been to the "Conveyor belt sushi" lunch a bunch of times. Ask them for the spicy crawfish with sliced avocado on top. My fav! I highly recommend!
Osaka is my go to place for Sushi and Hibachi... I used to go to Benihana all of time, but during the time that they burned down a few years ago, I had to find another Sushi/Hibachi restaurant. They rebuit the Benihana, but it's not the same to me. That's where my love affair with Osaka began. I can't recall one negative experience that I've had out of all the times that I've been here, and trust me... I've been here A LOT. I'm a sushi lover and being from Hawaii (the best sushi in the world) I know good sushi. I am going to try Sakura, since I see all the good reviews. I guess I'm a creature of habit, and as long as it's good, I keep going back. With that being said, I will try other places at the recommendation of others... I'll write a review for Sakura when I go (very soon).
Favorite sushi rolls and hibachi items are Spicy Crawfish roll, Osaka roll, and Cordova roll, I love the scallops, shrimp, and calamari hibachi, and of course the lobster. Can you tell that I'm a seafood lover? LOL.
I don't even know where to begin. Osaka is my drug. I have it probably 2 times a month and thats being lenient. I guarantee the person with Osaka that is reading this recognizes me. My friends and I don't even talk about going to other restaurants anymore. Osaka is always the choice. Especially during conveyor belt. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the spicy crawfish and dyno dynamite coming at me. I try to change up my rolls regularly since I go there so often, but my all time favorite would have to be the spicy crawfish. Another one I have become quite fond of is the hot red dragon roll. Honestly any roll that is spicy I'm pretty about. The only negative about this place is their service. Sometimes they are great, other times you're lucky if you get someone to approach your table. However, I still keep coming back because Im addicted and its a problem.
Not better than Benihana but a lot cheaper. Would get a lot more business if they didn't close in the middle of the afternoon and opened earlier on Saturdays. But still really good

Bento Benito – Man, I got a bento when traveling to China last year. Behold I can get a similar (close) meal as I received in China (nice settings)
I have tried several Japanese restaurants. Osaka is my favorite !!!. First of all, food is great, high quality and super fresh. The price is reasonable. I love the decor at the restaurant, great atmosphere for a night out with family.
I love the food and the cheifs! I love how the cheifs are creative and how they give you a little bit everything on the grill! They even cook right infront of you, they make volcanos out of onions, and they make fire burst in front of you! Everything is AMAZING!!!!!
This resturant is one of my manager's favorite. She loves the food, and so do we. We take her for Boss' Day and her birthday. We love how the chef's entertain as they cook.
Crazy about dining out
Exceptional service at a reasonable price. Sushi is always fresh with a flair for the unexpected. A must visit eatery for a quick snack or an intimate date with a loved one.
Best SUSHI in the city!
Best SUSHI in the city is so true as others have stated. Slow slow slow service, it is a good thing you can get it yourself at lunch. Great place just don't be in a hurry or you will not enjoy the wonderfully fresh made in front of you sushi.
Best Sushi around. Definitely try the Imperial Fillet. Unbelievable !!
